What's in a stick
Kanna, fruit and herbs, and not much else.
Kanna (Sceletium tortuosum) is a South African succulent that people there have shared socially for centuries. We use a standardized extract so every stick is the same, and the rest of the stick is real fruit and herb flavor.

Nobody gets up. Somebody refills the water, somebody tells the story again, and an hour goes by that nobody planned. The Spanish have a word for that hour, and it's usually the best one of the night.
We wanted a drink for it, one that keeps you in the conversation instead of pulling you out of it, and one you can still be drinking at midnight without a hangover the next day. Then we noticed that sober is sitting right in the middle of the word, and took it as a sign.

What is kanna?
Sceletium tortuosum, a succulent from South Africa's Western Cape that people there have shared socially for centuries. We use a standardized extract.
Is there alcohol, THC or CBD in it?
None of the three. The active ingredient is kanna, a plant that isn't related to cannabis, and there is no alcohol in the drink.
What does it feel like?
Kanna lifts your mood and makes conversation come easier, the way the first drink of the night does, without the alcohol. It isn't sedating and it isn't a stimulant, and it won't get you drunk or high.
Can I drink it every day?
It's made for getting together rather than for every day. One stick when you're with people is the idea.
Who should skip it?
Anyone on SSRIs or other serotonergic medication, and anyone pregnant or nursing. Talk to your doctor if you take medication. Not available in Louisiana.
